I was excited to hear that the next major conference in a field that I am very passionate about is coming to Sydney! The 14th World Congress of the International Neuromodulation Society (INS) will be held on May 25 -30 2019.
Neuromodulation is a fast-growing field focused on the “the alteration of nerve activity through targeted delivery of a stimulus, such as electrical stimulation or chemical agents, to specific neurological sites in the body.” Just like the newly founded Sydney Neurobionics Collaboration (SyNC), the INS is committed to bringing together clinicians, scientists and engineers dedicated to the scientific development and awareness of neuromodulation.
The 14th Congress is titled Neuromodulation: Leading a Global Medical Revolution. There are many sessions for professionals in the field, and there is also a free event open to anyone with an interest in the application of Neurostimulation to pain, bladder control and movement disorders. Neurostimulation is an established drug-free therapy for chronic conditions that can improve quality of life. You can go to their site now and register.
It’s great to be able to share the INS web site with you, because it provides lots of information for patients or interested parties. Neuromodulation offers exciting possibilities for the treatment of some of the most difficult challenges in reconstructive plastic surgery, and it will help drive greater innovation in surgical practices that can change people’s lives.
Please be in touch with any questions you might have about neuromodulation.
